From Restaurant Entrepreneur to Public Speaking Pro: Sara Frasca's Journey of Innovation and Inspiration

SPEAKR Team: Hi Sara, thanks for joining us today! Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got started in the world of business and public speaking?

Sara Frasca: Absolutely! My journey began a decade ago when, inspired by my family’s Colorado Springs restaurant Pizza Plus (which opened in 1974),  I built Trasca & Co., a cozy Italian eatery nestled in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Before that I worked at General Mills, where I realized my ability to question the status quo to come up with new ideas - which sparked my love for innovation. As a restaurant owner, I’ve learned valuable lessons about entrepreneurship, leadership, and the importance of fostering a strong team culture. Over time, I realized that my passion for innovation and team building extended beyond the restaurant industry, leading me to start my career as a public speaker, and eventually launch my consulting firm, Point NorthEast.

SPEAKR Team: How did you find your way into the world of public speaking?

Sara Frasca: I realized that I had a unique perspective to share and that my experiences as a business owner could inspire and empower others. My love of innovation and the concept of “positive” disruption resonated with a lot of individuals and companies, helping me carve out a niche for myself in the public speaking space. Through speaking engagements, workshops, and keynotes, I've been able to connect with audiences around the world and share insights on topics like innovation, leadership, and team dynamics.

SPEAKR Team: What inspired you to take what you learned as a restaurant owner and apply it to business consulting?

Sara Frasca: Running Trasca & Co. is an incredibly rewarding experience, but I felt called to explore additional opportunities and challenges. As a consultant, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of businesses, helping them navigate complex challenges, innovate in their industries,  build high-performing teams, and really take the topics I discuss in my keynote’s and put them into practice. It's incredibly fulfilling to see my clients achieve success and realize their full potential.

SPEAKR Team: Can you share some of the key lessons you've learned along the way?

Sara Frasca: Absolutely! One of the most important lessons I've learned is the power of resilience and adaptability. The business landscape is constantly evolving, and it's essential to embrace change, learn from failure, and pivot when necessary. Additionally, I've learned the importance of fostering a strong company culture built on trust, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose. When you invest in your team and create an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered, amazing things can happen. It sounds like hogwash – but to those that have truly invested in building the culture, they can appreciate the power. Once you have a strong cultural foundation, you never look back!

Sara Frasca: My advice is simple: Be authentic, be passionate, and never stop learning. Find your unique voice and share it with the world. Surround yourself with mentors, collaborators, and supporters who believe in your vision and can help you achieve your goals. And most importantly, don't be afraid to take risks and embrace the unknown. That's where the magic happens! Failure is just a memonary blip - keep learning and confidently experimenting!
